CosmiTec's Love Letter, Issue #074 -- Venus Pluto Connections January 21, 2011 |
Dear When we read
this article
about astrological forecasts on LiveScience, a web site posting "scientific" articles, and then later
this article
, spread all over on the internet like wildfire, we could not resist writing a comment.
Star Signs (zodiac signs or better yet Sun signs) are FIXED and always count from 0° Aries (the so-called Aries Point, Vernal Point or Spring Equinox). The 12 fixed zodiac signs (measuring 30° each) build the Tropical Zodiac as used by most Western astrologers. In this system, there are always 12 zodiac signs (from Aries to Pisces), no more no less. By the way, don't forget that it's not only your Sun sign that counts. The Sun is only ONE single body that has to be delineated together with many many other points and bodies (the Ascendant, Moon, Mercury,...). 0° Aries is always the primal and archetypal starting point of the Tropical Zodiac and thus represents the "sparkle", a brand new start, something that is initiated or ignited. If you have planets or bodies on this point in your charts (progressed or solar return chart etc.) you will just KNOW how true this is! The Constellations on the other hand blend different "stars" into a "constellation" (an image) and they are NOT FIXED (the constellations move -- albeit very very slowly). The Constellations build the Sidereal Zodiac, as used by most Vedic astrologers. Because of the slow movement, the Sidereal Zodiac is about 23-24 degrees behind the Tropical Zociac. Previously, it was thought there were 12 constellations but many many years ago it was found there were in fact 13 constellations (bundles of Stars) (and who knows yet more but this does not matter for astrologers!). Moreover, the names of the constellations as such do not matter, it's the stars that count and that build a constellation, how many constellations there ever may be. The erroneous thinking in the articles is that the Sidereal zodiac (based on the Constellations) is the only correct one, if at all -- which is not true as evidence and empirical research learns that BOTH zodiacs are valid and work. The methods and techniques applied in one system cannot (necessarilly) be applied in or transferred to the other system though. You can't apply the Vedic yogas to the Tropical zodiac for example. Each has its own methods and can act as a reference point. Both systems should not be mingled but they can be used aside of each other and have their merit. Some astrologers use the Sidereal and Tropical zodiac beside each other. By the way, our own research studies are conducted in the Tropical Zodiac. There is so much evidence that the Tropical Zodiac is valuable and valid that we can never mention and list it all. Just an example: if you look at the horoscope of Prince William (born June 21, 1982 at 9:03 pm BST in London) who is supposed to marry within a couple of months, you'll see how wonderful and exact the Tropical Zodiac works. Look at his progressions in the Tropical zodiac for the coming months: he has a progressed New Moon EXACTLY at his progressed 7th house cusp of marriage and an EXACT natal Sun - progressed Venus conjunction. How's that!!!! This is not a coincidence but a once-in-a-lifetime astrological cookbook configuration pointing to a marriage! Another example relates to the Saros Cycles of Solar Eclipses (Tropical Zodiac!). So it was found in the early 90s by the fabulous Australian astrologer and meticulous researcher Bernadette Brady that the 13 Series (the one of the January 4, 2011 Eclipse and the one of the coming June 1 and July 1, 2011 Eclipses) profoundly affect the horoscope of Australia. In her book "The Eagle and the Lark" (that we discuss on our astrology book reviews page ) she lists the major events (among others the 1974 floods) that relate to the previous eclipses that are part of the Saros 13 Series. It's tragic and devastating but nonetheless CYCLIC (indeed there are just cycles at work!) and it does not come as a surprise that part of Australia is flooded (again) during the current Saros 13 Cycle Eclipse. Because Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune (FYI: all three planets together represent inundations and floods) are all at the same numerical degree in the Tropical Zodiac at degrees assigned to floods, and in mutual reception, you understand why it does not come as a surprise that the world is also currently experiencing floods here and there. With Uranus soon to enter the cardinal fire sign Aries (also representing the linear movements of fire like a gunshot or a volcano) we know that earthquakes and lots of more volcanic activity WILL come into the news quite soon (especially considering Uranus will start to square transformative Pluto in the earth sign Capricorn). Remember also that the first degrees in Cardinal signs in the Tropical Zodiac have importance for Europe and will affect this continent above all. No surprises here too following the Tropical Zodiac. This is NOT to upset people though because it's just the way nature works; has always worked and will work for long, even after December 2012! It's part of living on planet Earth. Astrometeorology makes this clear but that's another story, entirely, and it looks we are already getting too much off topic now. History is the best proof that the Tropical Zodiac does work! Far more people should study REAL astrology (both tropical and sidereal astrology) to avoid erroneous thinking and muddling things up. Sometimes we have to stop reasoning and reasoning and look at some evidence because too much cold reasoning alone creates a huge distance and gap with reality. Not sure if it's true but the following saying should come from Leonardo da Vinci: "If you find from your own experience that something is a fact and it contradicts what some authority has written down, then you must abandon the authority and base your reasoning on your own findings." How insightful and well said! The same discussion can be held about Geocentric (Earth-centered) astrology and Heliocentric (Sun-centered) astrology. They both are valid and do work, keeping into account that each system has its own methods and can be used as a reference point on condition that things are not muddled up. We can go on and on and on..... but will stop our rant here :-D Let the cobbler stick to his last and if we, astrologers, take our job seriously (away from mainstream commercial goals or unscientific a-priori reasoning), keep questioning ourselves and try to improve ourselves and our methods rigorously, look at the outcomes, the facts and evidence, we don't need scientists to tell us what we're doing right or wrong! Love Forecasts for February 2011Around February 2, Venus at 28° Sagittarius squares Uranus at 28° Pisces resulting in short-lived enjoyable encounters and meetings. You may easily fall in or out of love. Just know that you should not expect any lasting union to blossom under this transit.Mercury enters independent Aquarius around February 3 and tries to find some interesting information in group gatherings or on the internet. Around February 4, Venus enters business-minded Capricorn and becomes more interested in money than in love. Love may have a price... As long as Venus resides in Capricorn, the focus is about material wealth and objects (of beauty). Relationships have to be valuable and that's why love relationships may start in your working environment. Also, a lover or beloved one who can help you in your business may get your highest approval. Between (and around) February 3-5, Venus is in a highly auspicious position regarding matters of love. It builds a very fortunate planetary picture that affects you directly if you are born around February 4-5, March 21-22, May 6, June 21-22, August 8, September 23-24, November 8 or December 22-23. Part of this picture is the Sun-Mars conjunction of February 4 at 15° Aquarius and the Venus-Moon's Node conjunction at 0° Capricorn. Indeed, do not in any way miss the opportunities around the days of February 3-5 that may have a stellar influence on your love life. Socialize, meet & greet. This configuration and planetary picture does not happen so very often the more so because it's not afflicted. If you are born around February 6, March 23, May 8, June 24, August 10, September 26, November 10 or December 25, you're in "fire and flame" around February 6. Let love surprise you! Moreover, it's a very affectionate day that will last the whole year if you are born around this day too as the auspicious love configurations remain in your solar return chart for the coming (solar return) year. Around the same day of February 6, Venus at 2° Capricorn squares Jupiter at 2° Aries. You're very popular and may enjoy social gatherings. Make a trip or travel and enjoy! If you are born around February 6-7, March 23-24, May 8-9, June 24-25, August 10-11, September 26-27, November 10-11 or December 25-26, you're going to experience yet another auspicious day around February 7-8. You may feel overjoyed. It's time for a proposal or a Wedding. What you do now will succeed. Passion increases around February 10 when Venus joins Pluto at 6° Capricorn. However, if you are a woman, this conjunction may work out quite violently too. You better avoid some men because of brutal and enforced feelings. Also, there may be separation (death) from a woman. Too much of a good thing is never good and around February 11, separation and stress mark your love life. This is especially so if you are born around December 29, February 12, March 28, May 14, June 29, August 16, October 1, November 15 or December 29. In some instances the astrological configuration that is active will bring childbirth though (which is also kind of a separation). The Moon's North Node enters Sagittarius around February 13. If you are born around January 1, March 31, July 2 or October 4, you may want to be alone, feel lucky alone too, or do some home improvements or beautifications. Make it cozy at home. The Sun and Neptune meet at 28° Aquarius around February 17, resulting in chaotic and confusing experiences. There may be a tragic loss of any kind and this conjunction is not an auspicious one. There is sadness, separation and violence. Moreover, Venus at 16° Capricorn squares Saturn at 16° Libra during the perigee Full Moon (called a SuperMoon) of February 18, mourning a separation. Indeed, this square is particularly bad because Saturn is the dispositor of Venus AND both are in mutual reception (Venus is ruled by Saturn because Venus is posited in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn -- any planet square its own dispositor works out in a most challenging and often turbulent way, also depending on the dignity of the planets involved). Because of the perigee Full Moon (the Moon is closest to the Earth now), there is more gravitational pull on weather patterns and tectonic plates, resulting in extreme weather conditions. Also, emotions tend to run higher too. **********SIDEBAR********** The next SuperMoons, perigee Full Moons, to take notice of are: March 19 and April 17. Because these are all Full Moons and occur late in the zodiac signs, they are quite disruptive and separative. The next SuperMoons happen later this year and are all New Moons falling early in a sign. Perigee Moons often bring earthquakes or volcanic activity! **********SIDEBAR********** Around February 19, the Sun enters spiritual and compassionate Pisces. Mercury conjoins Mars and Neptune around February 20-21 at 28° Aquarius, resulting in yet more violence and harsh disputes. Chaotic experiences are likely to happen. In some cases, this planetary combo points to illness and flu-like symptoms. Mind your health in case you are born around January 19, February 17, March 19, April 19, May 20, June 20, July 21, August 22, September 21, October 22, November 21 or December 21. Also, mind your words as you tend to be too harsh and sharp now. There is too much gossip around. Mercury enters Pisces around February 21, followed by Mars around February 23. Also know that Uranus is now at 29° Pisces, right at the highly turbulent Fixed Star Scheat, the most "watery" degree of the zodiac (think shipwrecks, massive rain, inundations and floods!). Energies are difficult to focus in Pisces. The mood is becoming more sensitive and your projects become more compassionate. A helping hand goes out to all the ones who suffer. Beware of too moody (irrational) and oversenitive reactions though. Around February 25, the Sun conjuncts Mercury at 6° Pisces while Jupiter at 7° Aries squares Pluto at 7° Capricorn. There are lots of expenses to be made. Uranus at 29° Pisces squares the North Node of the Moon at 29° Sagittarius causing upheaval for many around February 27. Because of the work involved, we could not add any new article or update our web site.Venus Pluto ConnectionsIn the January 21 2010 issue 62 of our Love Letter, we discussed the basic philosophy of Venus Mars connections and what they signify. We refer to that article for further clarification about the way connections work and what they are.In this Love Letter, we will delineate the Venus Pluto connections. When do we have a Venus Pluto connection, theme or analogy? In most cases, the following configurations are used (there are more though (!) but this would lead us too far and make it more complicated than necessary):
What does the Venus Pluto connection signify? The Venus Pluto connection or analogy is associated with passion in all its colors. It's closely linked with some inner enthusiasm too. People who have this connection or analogy strong in their natal chart very easily feel guilty about their relationship(s). They feel some inadequacy in this field for whatever reason. Especially when there are lots of these analogies or an extremely tight aspect, the basic issue that this connection represents is one of a huge (extreme) fear to be alone or to lose someone (a beloved one). Empirical research has shown that this connection is often found in natal charts of people who try to identify with "the other", the partner, in a very (often overly) idealistic way. Sooner or later they realize that "the other", the partner was not that interesting after all and face a conflict between their ideals and reality. The underlying psychological meaning of this behavior has to do with a lack of stamina and character of the mother of the native which brought about lots of deception into the native's life. The mother tries to unconsciously imprint fear into the native's life to mask her own weakness. The native subconsciously responds by looking for other ideals (in the partner or in "other people"). It has to be told that this connection has more downsides than positive sides. Above average, people with strong Venus Pluto connections may experience skin problems related to the fear of losing someone or after a real separation from a beloved one (or animal!). This proves that emotional issues cause physical changes to be healed by becoming conscious/aware about the separation (the "emotional conflict"). The skin issues should then resolve "automatically." In relationships, especially in love unions, it brings a huge need to "have" someone, to almost possess someone. There is an excessive attachment resulting in the impossibility to let "the other", the partner or a beloved one, go. This behavior may become detrimental for the native because, even if (s)he ackowledges that (s)he has the wrong partner, (s)he cannot separate without severe emotional pain. The relationship seems to be cast in reinforced concrete. People with strong Venus Pluto connections emotionally stick to "the other", a partner or beloved one in a detrimental (self-destructive) way. Think of the proverbial fly in a spider's web... No doubt this configuration is one of the most difficult, tragic and detrimental ones in love relationships! It's the inner passion that eats one away... Because Pluto is an emotional body (it rules a water sign!), it is related to subconscious primal fears. The native subconsciously fears to be helpless and alone in this world and compensates this fear by holding on to someone. Moreover, the parents (or one of the parents) use(d) fear to make sure the native submitted to them and stayed with and followed them, for the sake of "love." In some instances this results in submissive and stereotypical (predictive) behavior of the native, to comply with "the other's" desires and to counteract "the unknown" which may increase or ignite yet more fear. People with a strong Venus Pluto connection want to feel (and be!) part of a (closed) group (be it a family or a social group). They want to feel valuable and need a position in the group. In many many ways, they will stick to the group "till the bitter end." Often, the life of Venus Pluto people has tragedy in it (the Pluto factor if you wish) because they are not flexible enough to jump ship or take another route. They stick with the same routine to the end, even if it will harm or hurt them. Venus represents money and material goods (as the ruler of the fixed earth sign Taurus) and that's why you can find so much people having this connection almost obsessed with money or diets. Women with this connection are shopaholics and obessively spend lots of money for food/diet and/or clothes. Another issue with Venus Pluto connections is a love (= Venus) hate (= Pluto) relationship with "the other", the partner or a beloved one. Jealousy may be a major issue and the reason why control is a compulsive desire of Venus Pluto natives. It's just another way of downgrading feelings of fear. Also, women tend to need more sexual experiences than men. In many instances, periods of obsessive sexual feelings and needs alternate with long periods of abstinence. Seasonal Biology vs. AstrologyResearchers at the Vanderbilt University found that the season in which babies are born can have a dramatic and persistent effect on how their biological clocks function. They call it seasonal biology. This is another study that confirms that some external imprinting happens and influences our health and, eventually, our personality. Though the researchers warn it has nothing to do with astrology (because they did not research the influence of planets but seasonal lighting), the principles and outcome are very similar. Sometimes scientists and astrologers have much much more in common than will be admitted! Astrology goes a step further though and instead of analyzing seasonal influences, astrologers base analyses on daily (and even the minutest) cyclic influences from external factors (planets, bodies, points). For astrologers natural rhythms and planetary or celestial cycles go hand in hand. Regarding biological rhythms, it's what Dr. J. Mercola writes in one of his latest Newsletters : "Everything in nature has a rhythm, and that includes your body. The ebb and flow of the ocean's tide, the rising and setting of the sun, and the transition from one season to another all happen with comforting regularity. Your body, too, strives to keep its 24-hour cycle, or circadian rhythm, steady and even. This is why most of us naturally feel like waking when the sun comes up, and sleeping when it's dark. Researchers have also shown how your circadian rhythm is involved in everything from sleep, to weight gain, mood disorders, and a variety of diseases. Unfortunately, modern life throws multiple wrenches into the works, as it were, mainly by artificially extending 'daytime.'" We find it unbelievable that some "scientists" disregard, neglect and even deny such biological, natural rhythms or are even looking to circumvent these! **********SIDEBAR********** We refer to Dr. Mercola's web site (and other health web sites and literature) to remind you again that it is of the utmost importance for your health to sleep in complete darkness. It's really mandatory. **********SIDEBAR********** Ancient astrologers knew for long that the day and night rhythms affect us all and that's why they made a difference between day and night births. Indeed, the delineations and outcome depended on this difference. No doubt that lighting has to do with it, aside from other, yet unknown factors (electro-magnetism, radiation, biophotons, other particles...?)! Unfortunately, modern -- more psychology oriented -- astrologers, do not take the difference between day and night births into account anymore, though they better should (again). Research should split up the analysis between male and female births AND day and night births (making astrological research yet more time-consuming and making it a life-time's job of teams of hundreds if not thousands of researching astrologers that even do not exist)! Clearly, there is still lots of work/research to be done and there are limits to what a human brain can contain and analyze. So, we don't think that it will be for tomorrow that astrology will be proven "scientifically", but the cyclic (seasonal) factor imprinting human beings is just a good step forward.
