In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around May 1, 8, 15-16, 22 and/or 28-29. During this month of May, the following planetary configurations will affect some birthdays in particular:
Try not to initiate any major projects on these dark, unfortunate, chaotic and empty days (no proposals, no marriages, no changes of residence,...) because things may not go as planned or wished. In the 45° dial, there are also two powerful midpoints between outer planets going on that will be exact this month and that will mark this month's Zeitgeist. Pluto hits the Jupiter/Neptune and Uranus/Chiron midpoints (PL = JU/NE = UR/CH) and stationing Saturn hits the Jupiter/Pluto midpoint (SA = JU/PL). The PL = JU/NE = UR/CH midpoint configuration suggests, among others: bankruptcy, market crashes, the huge (financial) losses and/or expenses, the big scandals, the huge fraud, the political uproar, disrupting big illusions, exposing false morals. If you are born around January 16, March 1-2, April 16, June 2, July 19, September 4, October 19 or December 3, this midpoint configuration may affect you more personally too. Stationing Saturn hitting the Jupiter/Pluto midpoint suggests, among others: delays in advancement or developments, not being able to develop properly, the stuck situations, not being able to move on, to experience severe obstruction. If you are born around February 2, March 18-19, May 3, June 19, August 5, September 21, November 5 or December 20 this midpoint configuration may affect you more personally. Around May 1, there is an urgency (and/or need) to meet, especially between influential people and/or groups. There is impatience to find relief and freedom. On a mundane level, the current astrological configurations may indicate fighting for freedom (often literally too). If you are born around February 8, March 24-25, May 9-10, June 25-26, August 11-12, September 27, November 11 or December 26, you may experience these influences most. Mercury at 28° Taurus squares Jupiter at 28° Aquarius while the Sun at 13° Taurus squares Saturn at 13° Aquarius around May 3, suggesting some disappointing news. The waxing Mercury-Jupiter square in fixed signs is full of wishful thinking and fixed convictions. Things are put in too a positive or optimistic way, indicating some window dressing is going on. The waxing Sun-Saturn in fixed signs reflects trying to fight strict rules and restrictions but still feeling huge resistance. On a material (physical) level, both aspects clearly indicate a bummer. Around May 4, there are clouds in the sky. Mercury enters its own sign Gemini on this day, indicating lots of changes of the place, lots of short trips and not really feeling at home anywhere. There can be real estate transactions going on and/or some marketing or propaganda. Perhaps, you may meet or get news of or about a sibling or neighbor too. Around May 5, there are sunny spells. Around May 8, Venus at 29° Taurus squares Jupiter at 29° Aquarius and will enter Gemini the day after. This waxing Venus-Jupiter square indicates financial expenses and/or purchases. There is a tendency to please, overdo, exaggerate, promise more than you can deliver and present a glossy cover. There can be more social encounters and meetings with neighbors or siblings. In Gemini, Venus becomes the social butterfly and is not interested in fixed bonds but prefers detached and changing relationships that focus on exchanging thoughts, ideas, information. Around May 10, there are sunny spells. Around the May 11 New Moon, which is also a SuperMoon, Mercury and the mean Lunar North Node meet at 11° Gemini, indicating a very busy and hectic time frame. Beware of misleading or misdirecting news and/or deceptive practices. There can be huge and upsetting scandals popping up, possibly related to (some) criminal organization(s). Following astrometeorology, there can be lots of precipitation here and there, resulting in chaos and disruption. Around May 12, there are clouds in the sky. Moreover, from May 11 till May 25, Chiron, Uranus and the Lunar Nodes will all be at the same numerical degree in a sign (11°) and around May 12 and 13, violent Mars too will be at 11° in a sign, adding to this turbulent, shocking, explosive and highly disruptive combo for many. Indeed, we expect eye-opening shocks and quite some upheaval for many, triggered by this SuperMoon. Just a reminder and to put this configuration in perspective: in mid March 2020 Chiron, Uranus and the Lunar Nodes were at the same numerical degree in a sign also. Jupiter enters Pisces around May 13-14 in which it feels quite at home. The planet of beliefs and worldview in religious (actually, spiritual) Pisces suggests an increased focus on religious leaders and social issues. In mundane astrology, Pisces is the sign of isolation, those who suffer, closed institutions and organizations (like hospitals and governments), sacrifice and help based upon universal love, secret societies and also the collective consciousness and when Jupiter of foreign affairs, overdoing, exaggeration is in that sign, it presents some widespread social issues and might even indicate widespread suffering. This can be a very charitable position for Jupiter to be in, often because there is something big going on that needs support or help in whatever way. Both Jupiter and Pisces have in common that they know no boundaries and spread things fast and far -- not always in an appropriate or balanced way. Jupiter always exaggerates and enlarges, in whatever sign it is or whatever aspects it makes. Hence, the topic of refugees, among others, will certainly be a main one as long as Jupiter resides in Pisces. Following astrometeorology, Jupiter at 0° Pisces may coincide with lots of heavy rain here and there. Around May 18, Venus and the mean Lunar North Node meet at 11° Gemini, suggesting great hopes, doing things to escape from reality and connecting. Enjoy artistic projects like photography, the movies and/or music. Following astrometeorology, there can be lots of rain here and there, resulting in floods and/or inundations. Around May 19, there are clouds in the sky. Around May 20, the Sun enters Gemini and squares Jupiter at 0° Pisces, the day after. The waxing Sun-Jupiter square at 0 degrees in mutable signs point to some unrealistic optimism and expectations and a carefree attitude that is not welcomed by everyone. This aspect indicates propagating, publishing, promoting something successfully, even though it's not "the Truth." Beware of story-telling around this period. Around the same day of May 20, there are sunny spells. Around May 22-23, Mercury at 22° Gemini squares Neptune at 22° Pisces, pointing to nebulous situations. Both planets are very strong in the signs they rule and present unclear situations and thus possible misinformation or disinformation. You may be easily misled now. Saturn stations and turns retrograde at 13° Aquarius around May 23. If you are Capricorn (or have Capricorn rising), this station will bring some health issues and not everything will go as planned or wished. There is dissatisfaction all around and some upheaval is to be feared. Saturn's stations often coincide with the fall of cranes, collapsing structures (or -- parts of -- buildings), authority figures or celebrities or higher-ups leaving this world, leaving their position, retiring or resigning. There can be restrictions that apply and that hinder you physically also. Stationing Saturn, often becomes more restrictive when retrograde and reviews things from the past. In freedom-loving Aquarius, stationing Saturn will certainly review and reassess our freedom and independence. Also, it will affect our convictions too. Following astrometeorology, there can be overcast weather with lots of clouds in the sky. Around May 24, there are sunny spells. Around May 25, there are clouds in the sky. Around May 26 there is a Lunar Eclipse at 5° Sagittarius. Actually, this Full Moon is a SuperMoon as it is closest to Earth as well, indicating some possible wild or extreme weather here and there. Venus at 22° Gemini square Neptune at 22° Pisces around May 27, pointing to a very sensitive period of longings for peace and harmony. You may honor an absent loved one. Enjoy music or the movies to cope with some emptiness. Mercury stations and turns backward at 24° Gemini while it meets Venus as well around May 29. Mercury's stations are most profoundly felt by Geminis and Virgos (or Gemini and Virgo Ascendants). During the stations things don't go as planned or wished and some health issues may pop up also. On a mundane level, these stations often coincide with strikes, protests and/or manifestations, the more so in airy Gemini that may block and/or disrupt traffic and/or public transportation here and there. Interestingly, this station also coincides with a conjunction to Venus. Both planets together are very gentle and enjoy social talks, poetry, love talks etc. At 24° Gemini, a degree of shock and/or paralysis, this conjunction may bring separation of some sort though. Following astrometeorology, there can be quite some rain here and there. We updated the page about the (love life of) Jennifer Lopez with the confirmation of her recent breakup. Mercury in Matters of Love and RomanceWe owe it to the late Lois M. Rodden, a meticulous data collector and keen astrologer, for her Mercury method of chart comparison, showing how important Mercury between partners/couples really is.Other astrologers like K T Boehrer and Robert P. Blaschke, have done interesting studies on the importance for Mercury in love and romance as well. Mercury is the archetypal messenger and when communication no longer works, any relationship, of whatever kind, will surely go down. Hence, it's best to have strong Mercury contacts between partners. However, in the natal chart too, some configurations that involve Mercury, seem to have a meaning regarding love and romance according to statistical research by German astrologer Harald Hoffmann. According to his statistical findings, the Mercury - Lunar North Node opposition in a natal chart is one of the aspects which increase the odds of separation and divorce somewhere in life, irrespective of the gender of the native. On the other hand, when Mercury trines the Lunar North Node in a natal chart, it seems to enhance relationships, adding to the possibility of staying together, irrespective of the gender his findings show. In male natal charts, the Mercury - Lunar North Node sextile is told to be one of the aspects that increase the odds of separation/divorce. In a female chart, no major Mercury aspects are found that may increase the odds of separation. In a male chart, Moon-Mercury (semi)squares and Mercury-Ascendant conjunctions are told to be two of the other aspects that may enhance a relationship. In a female chart, Mercury-Saturn squares are told to be one of the aspects that may enhance a relationship, as well as Mercury-Lunar North Node conjunctions. These are only a few configurations or aspects that involve Mercury and based upon statistical research. Never forget that one aspect or configuration alone is not telling as it's always wrong to only take one piece of the puzzle in isolation to judge the cover of the puzzle. It's the many pieces together that count. But nevertheless, we first have to find the single pieces of the puzzle and statistics can be one of the tools that can help to find these.
