Click here to download the October 2023 calendar in pdf format. In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around October 5-6, 13, 20 and/or 26. During this month of October there is the following specific planetary configuration of stationing outer planets that might affect some specific birthdays in particular:
Try not to initiate any major projects on these dark, unfortunate, chaotic and empty days (no proposals, no marriages, no changes of residence,...) because things may not go as planned or wished. In the 45° dial, there are some powerful midpoint combos between outer planets going on that will mark this month's Zeitgeist: the Saturn/Uranus midpoint equals the Neptune/Pluto midpoint (SA/UR = NE/PL), then the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint equals the Neptune/Chiron midpoint (JU/SA = NE/CH), Uranus hits the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint (UR = JU/SA) also and, finally, Pluto equals the Saturn/Neptune midpoint (PL = SA/NE). The SA/UR = NE/PL planetary picture suggests, among others: the tragic losses, the missing people, the breaking of a dam or big structure, the breakdown or tumbling down and dissolving structure(s), the disturbing water issues creating havoc, the breaking of laws and corruption, the revolt against corruption or fraud, the disappearance after a breakdown or technical defect, the severe water-issues and/or storm, destructive issues related to petrol, oil or gas. Overall, this is a tense, turbulent and destructive planetary picture. The JU/SA = NE/CH planetary picture, that is especially more active in the 2nd half of the month, suggests, among others: the damage to homes and buildings, the real estate decay, the buildings on fire, the inundation or floods. Following mundane astrology, the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint almost always represents homes and buildings while the Neptune/Chiron midpoint almost always coincides with water-related issues (maritime disasters, floods, inundations etc.) but in some cases has been active during big fires too. The UR = JU/SA midpoint that is especially active in the 1st half of the month but lingers on the whole month, suggests, among others: the sudden 'violent' changes, the huge damage to buildings, the destruction of homes and buildings, the defective cars and/or engines, the sudden change of residence, the sudden leave-taking, to quit a job or career, the mental strain and stress, to choose a lifestyle where you have more freedom, the abrupt changes in lifestyle that are meant to set you free, the sudden upsets forcing you to change direction. The PL = SA/NE midpoint indicates, among others: the fear, the potential for loss, to feel down, the ongoing decay, not being able to develop, the big suffering, the chronic or severe illness, the big health challenges, the huge environmental toxic or poisonous issues. Additionally, Neptune and the mean North Node of the Moon (not the true Node) are still semi-sextile each other at 25° in a sign during the 1st half of October: Neptune is in Pisces and the Lunar North Node is in Aries. When Neptune and the Lunar Nodes are in contact, they often point to, among others: the influence of secret groups or societies or groups working behind the scenes, asocial behavior, detesting society, the art of deception affecting groups of people, the disturbed night rest, the betrayal, the unrealistic expectations in or from a group. Around October 1, there are clouds in the sky together with a breezy wind here and there, later on followed by sunny spells. Around the same day of October 1-2, Mercury at 25° Virgo opposes Neptune at 25° Pisces. With both planets in their own sign and hitting a 'fata morgana' degree, early October might bring confusion, unfulfilled wishes or longings, chaos with events and experiences that are hardly to describe or comprehend. A reality check is in order and some of you might be in shock and experience cognitive dissonance. You may want to know the (real) truth. Following astrometeorology, beware of very stormy weather here and there. Around October 2-3, romance is in the air for some of you: you may whisper sweet nothings, enjoy creative and/or artistic projects, go for poetry and feel very inspired. However, some of you may face infidelity, a lack of tact, resulting in deception or disappointment. This can be the more so if you are born around January 15-16, February 14, March 16, April 15-16, May 16, June 16-17, July 18, August 18, September 18, October 19, November 18 or December 17. Around October 4, Mars at 24° Libra opposes the true Lunar North Node while Mercury enters Libra. Readers who regularly follow our monthly forecasts know already how any Mars-Lunar Node aspect tends to work out in mundane astrology: it often coincides with bloody mass events, accidents or violence affecting groups of people or a community. When Mercury enters the sign of the Scales, it increases the need to express an opinion, to connect, discuss and talk with others. Libra is an air sign and thus noisy, suggesting a noisy period with lots of buzz. Some of you will encounter someone new or sign a contract or agreement. Between October 4-6, some of you may visit a hospital and/or are connected with illness or with someone needing help. Also, during this period of time, some of you may feel rejected, experience falsehood, cannot find a connection with someone or with others and/or may be fired. This can be especially so if you are born around January 15-16, February 14, March 16, April 15-16, May 16, June 16-17, July 18, August 18, September 18, October 19, November 18 or December 17. Around the October 6 Last Quarter Moon at 13° Cancer, some of you may have to face a tragic death of a loved one. You may miss someone... Additionally, this lunation's degree is a very public one, suggesting that from this lunation on and for the coming 7 days, something will be disclosed, made public, uncovered, spread widely or go viral. Some of you may announce some kind of celebration or festivity too (often related to home and/or the family or the domestic area). Things cannot really be kept secret during this lunation period. Following mundane astrology, there might be an increased risk of air crashes or transportation and traffic accidents. Something might happen or be 'in the air', literally, here or there (because the majority of planets is now in air signs too). Around October 8-9, Mars at 27° Libra squares (already stationing) Pluto at 27° Capricorn while Venus enters Virgo. Almost always, Mars-Pluto squares coincide with violence, accidents and brute force. Women should particularly be careful when meeting someone under this transit as it increases the odds of crossing boundaries, physical abuse etc. Following astrometeorology and mundane astrology, Mars-Pluto aspects increase the odds of (man-made or natural) disasters, often connected with power outages. When Venus enters Virgo, the sign of work, chances are you may meet love at or around the workplace. Small (domestic) animals may bring comfort into your life. Venus at 1° Virgo opposes Saturn at 1° Pisces around October 10 while Pluto stations at 27° Capricorn and turns direct again. The opposition aspect to Saturn suggests that some experience or event was prevented from happening. It may also indicate that something was cancelled, blocked and, in some instances, this aspect may also point to monetary concerns, not being able to pay, or facing a blocked account or the need to tighten the belt. There is separation going on with an inability to connect with someone, a loved one or with others. Periods of stationing Pluto tend to coincide with corruption or fraud being revealed, resignations and, above all, (forceful) mass events that result in quite some casualties. Following astrometeorology, stationing Pluto is part of disasters and intense stormy weather -- so, beware! In the earth sign Capricorn, reflecting the crust of the earth, landslides, earthquakes, mining or underground disasters etc. can be part of the signature. This particular degree of 27° Capricorn is about censorship, calculated and mechanical (almost robotical) behavior. Whatever currently happens and as long as Pluto remains at 27° Capricorn, is filtered intellectually without any feelings. Also, there is a huge dissatisfaction noticeable and whenever this degree is triggered, following mundane astrology, it coincides with some kind of an exodus, people leaving their place of residence -- for whatever reason. People tend to feel disconnected from each other, which might be noticeable the whole month long. Also realize that direct Pluto is slowly going towards the so-called 'critical degrees' of 29° Capricorn-0° Aquarius again, which will dominate the whole year 2024 long. This heavy transit will thus start to continuously trigger one emergency after another, one unexpected disruption after another. The coming year is expected to be(come) very intense, disruptive, uncomfortable, freeing the world and humanity yet more from 'old chains' -- but with a twist. Around the same day of October 10, there are sunny spells. Around October 11, there are clouds in the sky. Around the same day of October 11-12, Mars enters intense Scorpio. This transit above average coincides with rising cases and/or publicity of (physical) abuse, sex scandals and the like. Every 2-2.5 years, people tend to more easily come forward during this transit with ongoing cases or investigations getting more public attention again as well. The October 14 Solar Eclipse at 21° Libra is accompanied by Mercury at 17° Libra opposing Chiron at 17° Aries. Following the keen astrologer and researcher Bernadette Brady, this Solar Eclipse belongs to the Saros 7 South Series. According to her, this family of eclipses suggests that huge obstacles will suddenly and easily clear or, on the negative side, a pending potential crisis will suddenly manifest and move through life very rapidly. It's an eclipse series pointing to whatever things moving at great speed (like wildfires or storms or epidemics etc). You get the picture, so beware AND prepare for what's to come and develop the next 6 months! Because the Solar Eclipse is also inconjunct disruptive and erratic Uranus, some inconvenient and unexpected changes can be expected. The degree area of 21° Libra indicates gatherings, large groups of people coming together (to celebrate or to manifest, protest or...). When Mercury and Chiron build an exact aspect, beware of defective electronics, technical issues, communication breakdowns, internet outages, traffic jams etc. Communication in whatever form is not going smoothly around this period. Also realize that opinions do differ and this transit might help you to remember that. Maverick Chiron is always obstructive, objects easily and that's what is likely going to manifest around the aspect. Around October 15, there are clouds in the sky, followed by sunny spells later on. The Sun at 24° Libra opposes the true Lunar North Node around October 18, often reflecting the absence of a male person. There can be illness, a downfall, loss of position, identity crisis or setback. Around October 20 the Sun and Mercury conjoin at 26° Libra, ready to square stationing Pluto at 27° Capricorn the day after. This intense waning square indicates annoyance, obsessive thoughts and sadness or even grief as well. You may feel down mentally and may meet lots of resistance for sharing your opinion. This aspect and degree area all point to intense censorship also. The October 22 First Quarter Moon at 28° Capricorn is conjunct Pluto while Mercury changes signs and enters Scorpio through the so-called 'gates of death' (0° Scorpio). Hence, this lunation is fully marked by the intense Mercury-Pluto energies. Some of you may get news about a legacy, insurances, taxes, or other 'shared resources.' Following mundane astrology, Mercury entering Scorpio above average coincides with severe traffic and/or transportation accidents (by car, train, bus etc.), causing lots of casualties. This is a very investigative astrological configurations overall too. This lunation period tends to mark a period of mourning, missing loved ones. Following astrometeorology, the atmosphere gets cooler, resulting in quite colder temperatures here and there. The Sun too enters Scorpio around October 24 through the 'gates of death', adding to more prominent Scorpio influences (about death, abuse, taxes, insurances, the banking world, legacies, darker agendas, investigations etc.). Around the same day of October 24, there are sunny spells first but later on it gets cloudy. Around the October 28 perigee Lunar Eclipse at 5° Taurus, Mercury and Mars, both at 11° Scorpio, oppose Jupiter at 11° Taurus. This Full Moon period suggests a transition period, a change of direction, widening the horizon and leaving (part of) 'the old.' You may enter new territory (literally or figuratively) and some of you will no longer feel really home and/or are on the go. The Mercury, Mars, Jupiter configuration suggests a forced move, a mandatory change of the place, but also to (successfully) carry out a plan. However, these three planets together also coincide with the legal system, legal issues and law that become all more prominent these days. Following mundane astrology, beware of an increased risk of fires and traffic issues here and there. Around the same day of October 28, there are clouds in the sky, followed by sunny spells later on. We are not following hype and prefer going step by step, follow some tried-and-true principles. How the Missing Element(s) Affect(s) Your Relationship(s)The elements and the elemental dvision of the horoscope are the building blocks of astrology.They mark our behavior, our experiences, our perception and our relationships (in the widest sense). As always in astrology, it's important to look at what jumps out, what is lacking or what is overly present, for example. This way, you can avoid confusion and getting lost when 'reading' horoscopes. When one of the elemnts (fire, earth, air or water) is missing or less prominent, it indicates that you will be 'less in your element' when confronted with themes that are connected to that element. But often too, you can be attracted to this unknown element to help you in your development. There is no real agreement among astrologers whether you should go for a relationship that mirrors your elements or one that compensates your elements and balances them all out as much as possible. It's not that black-and-white we think as this method alone has to be used together with other methods to see the whole picture and 'judge' accordingly. Some people just need the comfort to stick with someone having familiar (and similar) traits, while others prefer more thrilling relationships that expand one's life. Both kinds of relationships have their own pitfalls: opting for the same elements tends to become boring in the long run, and my result in getting into a comfortable rut easily and not being able to get out. Opting for complementary elements may be thrilling and very attractive (at first), but because you don't understand that element properly, be aware that after the initial attraction often comes the rejection and possibly too, aversion, if no other configurations prevent it going that way. Missing fire element The partner has to be cerebral, intellectual for a compatible relationship to occur. The relationship has to be kept light and airy. Missing earth element The partner has to be philosophical and see the bigger picture. You both have to be able to share dreams and visions and 'higher' insight to be compatible. The partner has to be open for everything. Missing air element An emotional partner may work out best and intuition plays an important role as well. Artistic and creative projects may keep the partners together. The partner has to agree with a less sociable relationship.
