Click here to download the December 2023 calendar in pdf format. In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around December 6-7, 13-14, 20 and/or 26-27. During this month of December there are the following specific planetary configurations of stationing outer planets that might affect some specific birthdays in particular:
In the 45° dial, there are some powerful midpoint combos between outer planets going on that will mark this month's Zeitgeist: the Jupiter/Pluto midpoint still equals the Uranus/Chiron midpoint (JU/PL = UR/CH), the Uranus/Neptune midpoint equals the Pluto/Chiron midpoint (UR/NE = PL/CH), Uranus hits the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint (UR = JU/SA) and, finally, Uranus equals the Neptune/Chiron midpoint (UR = NE/CH). The JU/PL = UR/CH planetary picture suggests, among others: the unexpected and/or thrilling fortunate developments, the BIG turmoil, the immense shock(s), the (massive) revelation(s), the widespread casualties after a shock or explosion or rupture, the sudden fierce storm. The UR/NE = PL/CH planetary picture is indicative of, among others: the internet outages, websites being down worldwide (this is almost a given). There is a huge uncertainty about how the future will develop. Following astrometeorology, this planetary picture also coincides with lots of rain, water-related issues, inundations, floods, maritime disasters etc. The UR = JU/SA midpoint suggests, among others: the sudden 'violent' changes, the huge damage to buildings, the destruction of homes and buildings, the defective cars and/or engines, the sudden change of residence, the sudden leave-taking, to quit a job or career, the mental strain and stress, to choose a lifestyle where you have more freedom, the abrupt changes in lifestyle that are meant to set you free, the sudden upsets forcing you to change direction. The UR = NE/CH midpoint suggests, among others: the heavy precipitation, the floods, the defeat or disappointment, the agony, the suffering, the inexplicable situation(s), the cognitive dissonance. Around December 1, Mercury enters Capricorn, presenting an official (and public) message or statement, an announcement from a government, governmental organization, leader of state or higher-up. There are official documents or letters coming into the open. Around December 3, Venus at 28° Libra squares intense Pluto at 28° Capricorn. This waning square often coincides with (financial, physical or emotional) blackmail or force. This aspect can be very forceful and coincides with rape and (physical) abuse. Women should beware of who they meet around this aspect as not everyone may have the best intentions. There is love's sorrow and you may not be able to develop properly now. Some of you may face some chronic health challenges that block your development and influence your well-being. Monetary issues may pop up as well, one way or the other. Following astrometeorology, there can be heavy precipitation here and there and even intense stormy periods. Venus enters passionate Scorpio, the sign of its detriment, around December 4. Some of you may mourn a loved one, others may face financial issues and yet others may have to deal with group pressure and some kind of obligations or duties to carry out. Any time Venus enters Scorpio through 'the Gates of death' (0° Scorpio), it coincides with swapping partners, leaving a partner to start a new relationship with someone else. In this position, Venus marks a transition period pertaining to relationships that are changing profoundly or transforming during this period. The December 5 Last Quarter Moon at 12° Virgo points to an explosive week (i.e. the sudden breaking free of pent-up energies to get rid of a facade), questioning laws or regulations, the unmasking and disclosing deceptive appearances, the splitting/separating of the inner and the outer so that the real inner core gets revealed (willingly or not). Hence, people might tend to more easily separate around this Moon phase due to an emerging need to be more independent, more connected with the inner self. Some of you may want to break free in whatever way. Neptune stations around December 6 at 24° Pisces and turns direct again. If you are Pisces or have Pisces rising, you may feel the station most profoundly. Stationing Neptune coincides with disappointments or unclear situations and some confusing moments. You may feel particularly tired around these days. This specific degree of 24° Pisces is about cognitive dissonance, something unreal that results in kind of a paralysis, not being able to (re)act because the experience is too overwhelming and impossible to grasp at this time. Hence, this period of time might indicate being or feeling inundated in whatever way (literally but also figuratively with too much work or too much on one's mind). In a broader perspective, it also indicates not working or not being able work for whatever reason (strikes, protests, manifestations, accidents, illness...). It's best not to fight or resist and let the current energies be what they are and let them flow away and dissipate. Following astrometeorology, stationing Neptune coincides with lots of precipitation and/or mist here and there. Any water-related or maritime issues may now get more attention. Venus at 6° Scorpio opposes Jupiter at 6° Taurus around December 9-10, often indicative of waste, extravagance, financial expenses and/or losses. However, on a personal level, both planets together point to popularity and nice surprises. Enjoy a gathering or socialize. Oppositions to Jupiter often coincide with something being made public (publicity), and with Venus the subject can be related to finances, small possessions and/or relationships. Often it also involves legal matters, for good or bad. On a mundane level, this degree area often coincides with explosions (of whatever kind), something that blows up and/or that expands beyond its limits (the breaking of a dam, for example). Around the December 13 New Moon at 20° Sagittarius, Mercury at 8° Capricorn stations and turns backward. Geminis and Virgos and Gemini and Virgo Ascendants may feel Mercury's station most as their current days might not go as planned or wished for. You may feel a bit down or ill around this station and it's best not to take any major decision. There is lots of restlessness and extreme nervous tension noticeable as well as accidents and separation that allow to suddenly end a chapter in life and start another. Sticking to the old will certainly result in more severe accidents or situations to force you to change course. Leaving 'the old' behind is what freedom means. Following mundane astrology, Mercury's stations often coincide with strikes, protests and manifestations. Expect more traffic issues and/or accidents as well. Interestingly, this particular New Moon, has almost the same meaning, pointing to separations, standing emotionally stronger in one's own power, leaving the home and/or motherly principles behind. For some of you, especially so when you are a woman, this New Moon period may mark a new look, a new way of dressing and/or hair cut so to more profoundly emphasize your uniqueness and independence. It's yet inconclusive whether or not the New Moon's degree marks refugees too, but it's a possibility as it fits this global picture and concept (leaving the domestic area, willingly or not, leaving the old behind to regain freedom and independence). The loss of the comforting past is a relief and marks a renewal. Around December 16, expect lots of buzz, a hectic period with numerous interventions, talks and work. The Sun at 24° Sagittarius squares Neptune at 24° Pisces around the same day of December 16-17, presenting uncertainty about the future, taking a step into the unknown. The current astrological configurations point to a reality check and physical and/or material hardship. Following astrometeorology, there chances of floods, inundations, maritime and other water-related issues causing damage. The December 19 First Quarter Moon at 27° Pisces is widely conjunct Neptune and sextile Pluto. This particular degree often coincides with water-related issues, lots of precipitation here and there on a mundane level. Also, there can be missing people, or people drowning or disappearing. Around the same day of December 19-20, Pluto is at 29° Capricorn and is in 'critical territory' again because the degree area between 29° Capricorn and 1° Aquarius is, as we have mentioned a lot in the past already, a so-called 'critical degree area' that is associated with really BIG U-turns, the changing of the rules, huge crisis situations, emergencies and the like. On a more personal level it also increases the odds of psychological and mental issues that may become more prevalent. The influences will last till late February 2024, suggesting we are now entering a very challenging period in time. All 29° in a sign are ending degrees, suggesting endings in a rather sad way but also a wrap up of a situation with some of you feeling at the end of the rope the coming weeks and months. Aside from these crisis situations and emergencies, also expect more irritation, collapses, extremely stressful and tense situations full of mental strain and even shock experiences while Pluto transits this area and changes signs. Venus at 19° Scorpio opposes Uranus at 19° Taurus around December 21, indicative of short-lived attractions and encounters. At very passionate degrees, this opposition may be highly sensual and may indicate conception/pregnancy. You are compelled to create or live your passions intensely. Following astrometeorology, there can be ice cold weather, precipitation and even some snow here and there. Around the same day of December 21, the astrological configurations point to a very thrilling and sensual (even sexual) time. If you are born around January 9-10, February 8, March 10, April 9, May 10, June 10-11, July 11-12, August 12, September 12, October 12-13, November 11-12 or December 11-12, you may feel the current influences most (unless natal Saturn aspects your natal Sun). Shortly thereafter, around December 21-22, the Sun enters Capricorn and meets Mercury at the same degree of 0° Capricorn. There are official (public) announcements, statements or messages from a higher- up, leader of state and/or celebrity. On a more personal level, some of you may switch careers or jobs, or change the residence or move. Retrograde Mercury re-enters Sagittarius around December 23, suggesting travel and/or being on the go. Some of you may experience issues to walk or move properly. Also beware of traffic and/or transportation issues. Around the same day of December 23 and 24, there is a passionate drive, especially noticeable in your relationships. There can be irresistible physical attractions and/or passionate involvements going on, especially so if you are born around January 11-12, February 10, March 12, April 11, May 12, June 12-13, July 13-14, August 14, September 14, October 14-15, November 13-14 or December 13. Romance is in the air during these sensual times. Around December 25 and 26, there is sympathy for someone and you tend to idealize the other. Some of you may experience a very creative period as well. This is the more so if your are born around January 15-16, February 14, March 16, April 15, May 16, June 16-17, July 18, August 18-19, September 18, October 19, November 17-18 or December 17. Following astrometeorology, there can be lots of precipitation here and there. Around the same day of December 25-26, Neptune is at 25° Pisces, a degree associated with shock experiences, cognitive dissociation, fear, unreal situations, the unreal becoming real, chaos, confusion, longing for clarity and truth, longing for another 'reality' so to get more rest and peace. No doubt, this degree area reinforces, and possibly intensifies, Pluto's ending degree area for the coming weeks and at least till early February when Neptune starts to transit 26° Pisces that still contains the same influences for some part. The degree area of 25°-26° Pisces is also found during times of trying to escape, flee away (literally or figuratively), or when talking about refugees. It's a very dissolving degree area overall. So, beware of floods, inundations and/or water-related issues also. After December 26, both Neptune and Pluto are at degrees with overlapping themes: fear, cognitive dissonance, shocks, facing the unreal, experiencing a psychic or mental crisis, extreme stress. Following astrometeorology and mundane astrology, water-related issues, floods, inundations, maritime disasters, drownings may manifest here and there. Around the December 27 Full Moon at 4° Cancer, Chiron stations and turns direct at 15° Aries while Mercury at 25° Sagittarius squares Neptune at 25° Pisces. Stationing Chiron often coincides with strikes, (heavy) uproar, manifestations, protests and, following astrometeorology, extreme and very tough weather conditions. Clearly, late December may present some heavy weather here and there. At 15° Aries, a so-called 'critical degree', stationing Chiron suggests clashes and collisions for sure and emotions running high. The Mercury-Neptune square adds to the confusion and, following astrometeorology, suggests lots of precipitation and heavy winds locally. Around December 27-28, Mercury and Mars conjoin at 24° Sagittarius while Mars starts to square Neptune at 25° Pisces later on that day. What we get here around this Full Moon period is a blend of Mercury, Mars and Neptune all closely connected at 24°-25° in mutable signs. This planetary configuration is a treacherous one, full of deception, lies, vagaries, intrigue and difficulty coping with a situation properly. Beware of theft as well. This can be a very turbulent and stormy period overall with anger as well. Following astrometeorology, stormy weather is a possibility here and there. Around December 29, Venus enters Sagittarius, finding love and attraction with a foreigner or in a foreign country. There is optimism in matters of love and romance. Jupiter stations and turns direct at 5° Taurus around December 30-31 to finish this year. This station is indicative of being on the go and often not currently residing at home. Some of you try to transform your life, especially on a material or physical (existential) level. You cannot decide to either fully quit the old or start anew and what to take with you. Some of you may decide to propose and/or tie the knot also.
