Click here to download the April 2024 calendar in pdf format. In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around April 1, 7, 13-14, 21 and/or 28. During this month of April there are no specific planetary configurations of stationing outer planets that might affect some specific birthdays in particular. Generally speaking, April 19 is a "less lucky" day. Try not to initiate any major projects on this dark, unfortunate, chaotic and empty day (no proposals, no marriages, no changes of residence,...) because things may not go as planned or wished. In the 45° dial, there are some powerful midpoint combos between outer planets going on that work out the whole month and will mark this month's Zeitgeist:
The JU/SA = SA/UR midpoint is indicative of, among others: the destruction of buildings and/or homes, the devastation, the material destruction or demolition, the destructive storm. The JU/NE = PL/CH midpoint suggests, among others: the big scandal(s), uncovering massive or large-scale fraud or deception, the big (financial) loss(es). With 4 planets/bodies still in Pisces during the first week of April (Venus, Mars, Saturn and Neptune) those of you born under the zodiac sign Aries or having Aries rising are still in a treacherous period for now. Also, there is lots going on behind closed doors during this period. You may feel isolated or confined. If you are Pisces or have Pisces rising, expect a heavy workload, lots of responsibilities, and a testing time to help you in your personal development. You might be called upon. Prepare for tiredness and/or some health issues as well. Following astrometeorology, a stellium in Pisces tends to cold/chilly and wet weather with more precipitation than usual. If you are Leo or Libra or have Leo or Libra rising, take in particular care of your health. Because Venus and Mars are still in Pisces together, the love life of all water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) may still get a boost these early April days. The same applies to you if you have Virgo rising. Around April 1, Mercury stations and turns backward at 27° Aries. As usual, Geminis and Virgos (and Gemini and Virgo rising) may feel the station of their sign ruler most. Things may not go smoothly or as wished for and it's also likely there is a lack of zest or some health issue popping up. Don't take any decisions just now and be aware that communication and traffic or transportation (in the widest sense) may go awry. Following astrometeorology, this degree area is related to (lots of) precipitation, often causing lots of traffic and/or transportation issues. This is the more so now that Mercury, ruler of transportation and traffic, stations and goes retrograde. Following mundane astrology, this degree area coincides with news about health issues, bankruptcy and/or financial losses or monetary concerns. Some of you may feel isolated around the station, and misjudgments may cause mishaps. Some old situation may have to be cleared out just now. Around the April 2-3 Last Quarter Moon at 12° Capricorn, Venus and Neptune conjoin at 28° Pisces. This lunation might coincide with a change of residence, a move, a job change or change in careers around this period in time. However, this degree area often also reflects an important change in the social status (like marrying) as well, or may point to conception. Love ideals and/or longings are high because of the Venus-Neptune conjunction in the zodiac sign Pisces in which both planets feel well, increasing sentimental, fairy-tale and romantic feelings. There is a real longing to merge/fuse and indulge in sensual gratifications, but some of you may rather prefer to go for creative and/or more artistic projects instead. This aspect can mark a time of seduction too. Because of the degree area, this conjunction may also work out differently for some of you though. 28° Pisces is a very dissolving degree, suggesting some love feelings may be unfulfilled, or involve sacrifice, some kind of letting go in a mourning mood. This can be compensated very well by embracing creative projects like music and/or dance. Following astrometeorology, all Venus-Neptune aspects, especially the conjunction right at a water-related and dissolving degree, may coincide with lots of precipitation here and there. The Sun and the true Lunar North Node meet at 15° Aries around April 4-5, indicating an important meeting with a male person, or with a celebrity, royalty or a person of importance. When the Sun conjuncts, squares or opposes the Moon’s Nodes, we are in what is called a Moon wobble period. Moon wobbles show a statistical pattern of death due to accidents or catastrophes, with emotions running high also. April is an unstable and irrational month because of that. People are excitable, easily confused and misled emotionally and mentally because of this Moon wobble. Additionally, 15° Aries is a very accident-prone degree, reflecting clashes and collisions, crossing boundaries, short-lived passionate encounters, sudden anger etc. However, for some of you, this aspect might indicate a sudden (spontaneous) enjoyable (short) encounter, a superficial but nice meeting, an unexpected pregnancy or conception and/or a (temporary or short-lived) love affair. Venus enters Aries, the sign of its detriment, around the same day of April 4-5, suggesting some large intervention by the Armed Forces (police and/or military) or fire brigades. There can be disputes and something taking an end, so you can start anew in an existential way. Some of you may take the opportunity to move, or change careers or switch partners. You may also want to find out how attractive you (still) are. The Sun, Mercury, Venus and the Lunar North Node are now in Aries, indicating some sorrow or concerns if you are Taurus or have Taurus rising. If you are Aries, there are some health issues but also support and/or help from others. There are sunny spells around the same day of April 5. Around April 6, there are clouds in the sky. There can be lots of activities going on but beware of (domestic) disputes, disagreements and anger. The April 8 Solar Eclipse (which is also a SuperMoon) at 19° Aries is conjunct Chiron, the eternal maverick. According to the brilliant and keen astrologer and researcher Bernadette Brady, this Solar Eclipse belongs to the Saros Series 8 North. Her research has shown that this Saros Series coincides with inventiveness and flashes of genius. People will have intuitive leaps, insights, good ideas, visions or vivid dreams and this new-found inspiration will pull the person away from his or her social life or relationship, thereby causing strain in the private life. This is a time when the person needs to be free, if only for a few weeks, she says. Whenever a lunation is conjunct Chiron, it presages and coincides with manifestations, protests, strikes, disruptions in our daily lives. This aspect reflects objections, throwing (certain) established rules out of the window, not obliging to the establishment, resulting in more periods of chaos and "anarchy" during the coming six months. So, rocky weeks and months ahead! Around the same day of April 8, there are clouds in the sky. Mars and Saturn meet at 14° Pisces around April 10, indicating obstructions, not being able to work, feeling ill and/or feeling lost in some way. It's a chaotic period that brings uncertainty and difficulty to adapt to a situation. There are sunny spells around April 10. Around April 11-12, the Sun and Mercury conjoin at 22° Aries. Following mundane astrology, this degree area is often active during big fires or volcanic activity. Some of you may be in a sad mood, mourn a loved one or cannot get over the end of a relationship. This may especially apply if you are born around February 12, March 28, May 13, June 29, August 15, October 1, November 15 or December 29. Mercury and Chiron conjoin at 19° Aries around the April 15 First Quarter Moon at 26° Cancer. Following mundane astrology, Mercury and Chiron together coincide with internet or power outages, electronics and/or electrical devices breaking down or crashing. Traffic and transportation may go awry here and there. On a more personal level, this conjunction marks odd news, differences in opinion or outlook and rules that suddenly no longer seem to apply. There are sunny spells around April 17-18. Venus and the true Lunar North Node meet at 15° Aries around April 17, suggesting enjoyable and spontaneous attractions, meetings and love encounters. There can be love at first sight indeed. Often, the attractions and encounters are short-lived though. Mercury and Venus conjoin at 17° Aries while the Sun enters Taurus around April 19. There can be lots of enjoyable talks going on, nice messages or even some small presents or packages arriving. It's a sensual time also and you may have a nice and enjoyable time overall. Around the same day of April 19, it's not recommened to buy anything because the product(s) will be out of stock, or delayed and/or defective. If you are born around January 9, February 22-23, April 7-8, May 24, July 10, August 26, October 11 or November 25, around April 20, you may feel lonely, face a separation, some disruption in a relationship (in the widest sense) for whatever reason (travel, work-related, an argument,...). Around the same day of April 20, there are clouds in the sky. Jupiter and Uranus conjoin at 21° Taurus while Venus meets Chiron at 20° Aries and the Sun at 2° Taurus squares Pluto at 2° Aquarius around April 21. Whenever Jupiter and Uranus meet or are in aspect, they bring relief in whatever situation you are. The conjunction is a thrilling aspect on a personal level because it brings insight, revelations, aha-moments, solutions, breakthroughs, new opportunities. At 21° Taurus, this conjunction is able to bring fortunate changes and situations developing for the best in a thrilling way or a thrilling turn of events. The Venus-Chiron conjunction often coincides with some kind of disruption in a relationship (in the widest sense), some upheaval or obstruction. This may result in not being able to connect properly. However, in some cases it may also indicate a change of the environment, enjoying a gathering, socializing or taking the first steps to initiate a date or encounter. The waxing Sun-Pluto square in fixed signs is indicative of forceful behavior or events, creating intensity, pushing through something willfully, combating a fixed or stalemate situation. On a mundane level, the period of a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction often coincides with technological breakthroughs, exciting discoveries, social or legal reform(s) but also social unrest because of differences in ideological, philosophical or religious philosophy. Both planets together are very freedom-loving. Everything related to aerospace and aviation may be in the news. There is, generally speaking, some discontent with legal, religious or philosophical matters and this discontent can be heard or felt here and there. Around April 22, there are clouds in the sky and it's overcast. Mercury stations and turns direct again at 15° Aries around the April 24-25 Full Moon at 4° Scorpio. Geminis and Virgos (as well as those of you having Gemini or Virgo rising) will rejoice because your life is slowly getting back on track again. Beware of traffic or transportation accidents though as well as disputes or arguments. There are sunny spells around April 24. If you are born around January 16-17, March 1, April 15-16, May 31 - June 1, July 17-18, September 2-3, October 18-19 or December 2-3, around April 25-26, you may revel in love but some of you may also be in a very creative and artistic period. Enjoy a concert, dance, photography etc. On a more mundane level and following astrometeorology, the current astrological configurations suggest a period of heavy precipitation (rain or snow) here and there. Around April 28-29, Mars and Neptune conjoin at 28° Pisces while Venus enters its own sign Taurus. Anytime Venus enters its own sign, it marks a sensual period, with possible love-making. The Mars-Neptune conjunction at a dissolving degree might coincide with toxic stuff, poisons (even food poisoning) and/or intoxication of some sort. Beware of infections as well, a lack of energy and zest and some mishaps going on. In some cases, undisclosed or undercover or secret activities may be part of the current energies. With 4 planets now in Taurus (the Sun, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus), people with the Sun in Taurus or having Taurus rising are more popular and 'in high demand.' If you are Gemini or have Gemini rising, some love's sorrow or issues with (a) child(ren) may be on the agenda for the coming weeks. Also, in some cases, a secret lover may be part of your life. The day after, around April 30, Mars enters its own sign Aries, suggesting interventions by 'the Armed forces' (army or police). It's a very active period with lots of initiatives to be taken. Mars in Aries decides for itself and pushes through irrespective of others' opinions, feelings or needs. Mars Conjunct the DescendantOn our website we already delineated the natal planets in the 7th house.Some time ago, we also started delineating the planets conjunct the 7th house cusp (called the Descendant) in this series of "planets conjunct the 7th house cusp (Descendant)." Thanks to the Astrodatabank, we were able to find out in an empirical way how each planet conjunct the 7th house cusp manifests. We keep a small orb of 3° and divide our research into male and female natal charts on condition the dataset is large enough. In this article, we delineate the position of Mars conjunct the Descendant. We made sure Mars was the only planet conjunct the Descendant, so to find the essence of this aspect without blending it with other planetary influences. Unfortunately, the dataset was rather small so that it was not easy to find lots of similarities. Mars conjunct the Descendant in the male chart Above average, men with Mars conjunct the Descendant in the natal horoscope are articulate, even erudite (Joseph Campbell, Allan Fotheringham, Ring Jr. Larnder, Stephen Jay Gould). Lots of these men write or have written books (Etienne Wolff, Alfred de Vigny, Georg Trakl, George A Smallsreed, James Randall, Jean Pinatel, Jean Monnet, Friedrich Reinecke, Ronald Hepburn, Allan Fotheringham, Stephen Jay Gould, John Ehrlichman, Joseph Campbell, Ring Jr. Lardner, Milton Black, Cliff Beal). Mars conjunct the Descendant in the female chart In the female natal horoscope, Mars conjunct the Descendant too is above average coinciding with an erudite personality, with extensive education (Wally Albertson -- other women had Mars conjunct another body/planet and seemed to reflect the same trait). They are often widowed (Wally Albertson, Martha Collier, Alaina Reed). They may have stressful relationships or marriage, not always a happy one (Agnese Proietti, Elaine Donahue, Martha Collin, Dorothy Dandridge).
