Some Empirical Research Results

In this article we present our empirical research regarding the Venus Mars semi-square (aspect of 45°) in the natal chart.

How We proceed

Is He Astrologically Afflicted?

To analyze the aspects and astrological configurations we make use of the AstroDatabank, which currently contains far over 60,000 birth data.

Unlike our statistical research projects, there is no software to help us find common traits and characteristics concerning planetary aspects and there are no control groups and no chi squares etc. that we use either.

On the one hand, the AstroDatabank has numerous categories to find common traits but on the other side, the AstroDatabank is still not detailed and not complete enough.

In our empirical research, we make a difference between the natal charts of men and women and only use birth data with a Rodden Rating of A and higher.

Also, we make a difference between applying and separating aspects.

To find the essence of the aspects, we only use a very tight orb of 1°!

This way, we avoid overlapping (unknown or other minor) aspects and know that the aspect will manifest quite strongly.

Mind though: every aspect is part of a larger whole and hardly ever stands alone or apart.

That's why some descriptions may be wrong in some personal instances.

This will especially be the case when other exact aspects (0°00'-0°01' orb) can be found in the natal chart because these will overrule the less exact ones.

Our descriptions are traits and characteristics that can be found in the majority of the cases taken from the AstroDatabank.

The Results

Let's first take a look at the general research results concerning the Venus-Mars semi-square aspect in the natal chart of men and women.

In general, men with a tight Venus Mars semi-square in the natal chart experience sexuality outside the norm (fetishism, perversions,...).

Men with such an aspect may encounter brushes with the law.

On average, long-lasting marriages are possible and they seem to have an exceptional mind.

Many men have a keen interest in astrology.

They love hard work and often do very hazardous work too.

Also, numerous of these men are teachers and/or lecturers.

They face accidental deaths and love dangerous and adventurous sports that are hazardous on a physical level too.

Because of their talents and gifted assets, they receive vocational awards.

The Venus-Mars semi-square in the FEMALE chart

In general, women with a tight Venus-Mars semi-square on average have two kids (most often at least 1 daughter).

Above average they love to act, write and/or perform.

They very often live detached from their family, a parent and/or both parents (either because of the distance, absence or divorce status).

On average, women with a close Venus Mars semi-square tend to be very vocal.

They have an avid interest in astrology and have siblings.

On average suicide or an accidental death ends their earth's existence.

The APPLYING Venus-Mars semi-square

Let's now take a look at the research results concerning the APPLYING Venus-Mars semi-square aspect in the natal chart of men and women.

Below is an image of an applying Venus-Mars semi-square.

An applying aspect occurs when the aspect is still to become exact because the degrees and minutes of the two planets are coming closer together to become exact (at the same numerical degree and minute).

In other words, both planets are moving together to build an exact aspect (orb 0°00').

Men who have the applying Venus Mars semi-square above average are conceptual thinkers.

They are teachers, propagators, lecturers,... and do the same job for long.

They love working alone.

They face terminal accidents and/or accidental deaths and are very talkative and/or vocal.

On average, they have one daughter (at least).

There can be terminal health issues and they are abandoned by a or the parent(s) who are often divorced during childhood.

The SEPARATING Venus-Mars semi-square

A separating aspect occurs when the aspect has been exact already and the degrees and minutes of the two planets can no longer become exact (at the same numerical degree and minute).

In other words, both planets are moving apart from the exact aspect (orb 0°00').
